Happy birthday to the sweetest, cutest, most creative, curious 6 year old I know…my Wyatt! It’s always fun to get ALL Momma’s attention…Wyatt loved our little photo session. I love this boy. I love that his little face has not hardly changed…just a little less chubby. He still smiles with his eyes and he is becoming more and more a BIG boy and less of a little boy. I think he had as much fun as I did.

This was his idea putting the “straw” in his mouth. I think he felt some ownership in these photos and loved giving his own input into what he wanted in his pictures.

I love this golden sun on his face and his hair. It was such a beautiful evening. And to let you in on a little secret and some honesty….this was so last minute. Not really planned. He had not taken a bath in 2 days…for real. And had gone exploring with his Daddy and brother that day. We quickly put a comb through his hair, wiped his face off and changed his clothes…and set off before the sun went down.

I wanted to take this picture of his hands because they are not so chubby any more…he is turning into a fine young man. He is SO excited about being 6-years-old that I think he grew another inch over night.

Since having our baby girl a couple months ago I’m just starting to get back into my photography sessions and I couldn’t think of a better way to kick it off then with this sweet family of 8! They were such a blast to be with and I could have spent another hour clicking away at my camera. This is a beautiful family both inside and out. And if you are curious about what to wear in photo sessions this is a perfect example! The colors pop and there is both texture and solid. It really makes a photo stand out.

This sweet little girl graced us with her presence on August 8, 2011. Weighing 7lbs 50z 20 in long. Born at 2:37 p.m.

We are all completely smitten by her. And she has two big brothers that just can’t get enough of her and who LOVE to make her smile.

She even surprised us with beautiful red hair! That’s from her Daddy’s side of the family.

Kathy and I had this date down for awhile to do their family pictures. We had never met before but we have a mutual friend so when we met that day she didn’t hesitate to give me a hug when she saw me. I love that. We took pictures on their beautiful land and had a great time and I’m pretty sure they had fun taking these. Their grandfather lives around the “corner” and he was at the barn tending to some things so when he stepped into the pictures my heart was so excited just to capture a sweet memory like that. Our neighbors. Sort of. We were neighbors several years ago and I often think about how much fun it would be if we still lived two houses down from each other. When I went to drop off the disc to Jennifer, I had my oldest son in the car with me and I told him that’s where we lived when you are a baby. Now he’s 5 and doesn’t have a memory of that home, but I sure do. I miss our home and our neighbors. It was fun to see the boys and to pick up where we left off. They are such handsome young men and growing up way too quickly. Jennifer and Travis I hope these pictures will hold special memories for you as you look back on them!

This is Jerrod. My youngest brother-in-law. His sister and mom came along on our photo session and we had a great time….even trying to get into the high school football stadium on a Sunday…but it didn’t work. On our way around town I saw places I had never seen before, just absolutely beautiful. A little “downtown” , an old church and dairy farm, gorgeous farmland, and we took back roads that would get a GPS lost. We even met a few people along the way. Jerrod, we are so proud of you and the young man you have become. We can’t wait to see the next chapter of your life!

They are back! I took their pictures last December and was thrilled to have the opportunity to photograph them again! And this time they brought their parents with them in the pictures. These little munchkins were so sweet. Reed went right along with me taking pictures. He didn’t skip a beat. When the camera was on him out came that handsome little smile. His little sister Catie Beth loved playing in the leaves and watching her brother throw the football. And this boy can throw! And catch! Watch out for him in about 11 or 12 years. I’m pretty sure he’s going to be a star high school athlete.

I had a blast with these girls! We started at the ice cream shop and then walked around town. It was a perfect evening and perfect company. These girls made me laugh and I think they had a fun time as well. What 10 and 8 year old girls don’t love to get dressed up and get their picture made in a fun, natural setting! I’m the youngest of four and this is my oldest brother and his family. They are beautiful and I love them. The weather is getting much cooler and I’m glad we were able to get everyone together for some family photos. Callie is the oldest, then Kaycee, then Turner. This sweet family we have known for about 4 years and two things about them: 1…they are some of the most thoughtful, sincere people I have ever met. 2….Andi, my friend, can bake the most incredible goodies. Seriously…she needs to open a bakery….amazing!!!! Beckett is their oldest son, then Helen, and then little Will who they adopted from Ethiopia and welcomed into their family in June. I mean seriously, don’t you just want to eat him up? And Beckett and Helen have these dimples that I could just pour some sugar in and eat out of them with a spoon. Ha!
